Forever Ride by Chelsea Camaron
Forever Ride by Chelsea Camaron
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
To start, I have not read One Ride, the first book in the series, so I wasn’t sure of what to expect. While it is clear that Forever Ride is a continuation of the events that occurred in the first book, the author does such a good job setting up the story and filling in the blanks with Sass and Tank’s flashbacks that I didn’t feel lost, or at least not for long. I will admit that I typically like my MC novels really gritty and raw, but the spin that Ms. Camaron puts on Forever Ride was refreshing, pulling me in immediately and keeping me engaged from beginning to end.
I found that having part of Tank’s story told from his point of view while trapped in a coma utterly fascinating. I’ve never read a book in which the author has done this and not only does Ms. Camaron do it, she does it well. Not only that, she does an excellent job of presenting the story from the alternating views of Tank and Sass that, as reader new to the characters, I felt fully invested in both of them rather quickly and couldn’t help but hope that they found their way back to one another. Further, I appreciate the realism she brings to Tank’s recovery when he finally comes out of the coma (and no, that’s not really a spoiler if you read the blurb carefully). The chemistry and love between Tank and Sass is obvious and makes their story that much more enjoyable.
Even though I haven’t read the first book in the series, it is clear that Ms. Camaron has given her readers a well-written and enjoyable installment in The Hellions Ride series. I look forward to reading the next book in the series as well as going back and reading One Ride. Forever Ride has definitely made it on my list of re-reads.
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
