Review of Enthrall Him by Vanessa Fewings

Enthrall Him
Enthrall Him by Vanessa Fewings

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am completely wrung out from reading this book. While Enthrall Him may be the final book in the series (not sure on that), Ms. Fewings did not skimp on the action. There is so much that occurs in this installment that I feel as though I’ve read more than one book. That the author packed so much into the novel without making it feel rushed is an impressive feat. Even more impressive to me is the myriad of emotions I experienced while reading – lust, love, heartbreak, fear, anxiety, helpless, happiness, joy, and an overwhelming sense of urgency at times. It was the best kind of rollercoaster ride, with it often feeling like a free fall.

As the threat of Lance looms over Mia, Cameron and Richard agree that getting her out of the country is the best course of action. Because Richard has a past relationship with Lance, it is Cameron who will be escorting her to London. Mia and Cameron quickly discover that the close confines of their shared hideout is not conducive to ending their D/s “training” relationship – especially with their hearts involved. It was both beautiful and heartbreaking to watch Mia and Cameron’s bond deepen: beautiful because she opened Cameron’s heart and heartbreaking because she belonged to Richard. I hurt for Mia as she tried to come to terms with her love for both men, knowing that whomever she chose, the decision would leave the other hurt. It was the proverbial rock and hard place she found herself between and while being loved by two beautiful and powerful Doms sounds wonderful, I wouldn’t want to be in her place. No matter how erotic the sex was – and it most certainly was.

Add to the love triangle several situations orchestrated by the Merrill’s to collect on the auction and the transformation that Mia has undergone over the course of the series is amazing. While I laughed myself silly when Mia compared Helete Merrill to a “Velociraptor in heat,” I feared for her mental health when the scene at Oberon Grove began to play out. Just as distressing, but in a different way, was the final chapter of the book in which Mia’s decision was made for her and the ending of Enthrall Him was perfect. Ms. Fewings has created such a wonderful character in Mia that I felt as though I was right there with her, hence my wrung out state. I absolutely love this series and do hope that Ms. Fewings has plans for more as I would love to see the other Dom find his happiness without Mia.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
