Review of Lucky Numbers by Kelly Gendron

Lucky Numbers
Lucky Numbers by Kelly Gendron

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I be Nobody? Please? But seriously, where can I find my real-life Lucky?

Luke “Lucky” O’Conner is the perfect alpha male bad boy – he’s all tatted up, sexy as sin, protective, and has a heart of gold. Kaley Harlow compliments him perfectly as a former child-star all grown up, who is trying to get out of a movie contract she was tricked into when she was younger and she attempts to do this as she sheds her reputation as a goody-two-shoes by taking a walk on the wild side – the first step being to get a tattoo. Although the initial tattoo artist turned out to be a bad idea, when Lucky is forced to take over the chemistry is instantaneous between the two. Interestingly, Lucky has to record the combination to his new safe before he forgets and because the situation with the now-fired tattooist kept him from doing so in an appropriate place, Lucky is forced to improvise and works the numbers into Kaley’s tattoo. While the two were definitely putting out some heat, Lucky has seen enough nice girls to know that Kaley isn’t the kind of girl he should be messing with, so he writes the combination down once her tattoo is finished and sends her on her way. The combination (pun intended) of Kaley’s tattoo’s secret and Lucky’s indiscriminately cleaning cousin who throws away that slip of paper sets the stage for the rest of this amusing, heartwarming, and sexy romance.

While Lucky Numbers is the third book in the TroubleMaker series, it can be read as a stand-alone. That said, after meeting Lucky’s cousin Dusty (from book one) when he and Kaley go to Texas for a visit, I do intend to go back and read the other two books in the series as I enjoyed Ms. Gendron’s writing style and love the characters she creates. She made me laugh, fall in love, turned me on, broke my heart, and kept me entertained the entire time. Lucky Numbers left me with a literal smile on my face and was just what I needed – it has definitely made it onto my re-read list.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
