My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really, really enjoyed Love You Senseless. Gideon and Eddie are such interesting characters and it was lovely getting to watch them dance around one another in the beginning and as they gradually fell in love. That both men sound completely delicious just enhances to the appeal of their story. Add to that the wonderful cast of characters that Ms. Nicol has created and I was in heaven while reading this book.

As soon as I realized that the page preceding Chapter 1 was Gideon’s experience on the night of the fire and his subsequent nightmares, I was completely horrified for him. I don’t think the word traumatic does that experience justice, but it helped me to understand much of why Gideon acted the way he did. Yes he was often an arse, but people are made to endure only so much before it breaks them and Gideon was barely toeing that line. Gideon’s emotional state and reactions were so believable that I was invested in him 1-2-3. It’s also why seeing Eddie serve as a balm for Gideon’s soul was so beautiful. Eddie is an absolute sweetheart – he’s cheerful, optimistic, upbeat, and clearly contagious as his happiness infects Gideon once Gideon stops hiding behind the boss card and gives into the chemistry between the two of them. Whew, those were some steamy scenes. As much as I liked the individual characters, my love for them increased exponentially when they were together.

While Love You Senseless is a contemporary m/m romance – and a hot one at that – it has the slightest bit of paranormal flavoring added to it as Eddie’s flat mate Taylor has psychic visions. I actually loved that twist as it added to the storyline several times and intensified the sub-storyline involving Eddie’s Cousin Luke. I can only hope that future books in the series give Taylor and Leslie their own shot at happiness (preferably together). Love You Senseless has the Men of London series off to a great start and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series as I adore Ms. Nicol’s writing.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
